The Wii is newer and a lot of fun, but if money is a concern, then go for the PS2. It is an awesome value right now. ~$100 US new for the system, and tons of great new and used games available for $20 and less.

personally i would get a wii. because it keeps u more active and u might even find that u become more fit. plus its great fun!!
