Austin first, with the Brontes at least a close second. There were several Brontes, and I tend to forget the first names relative to the book titles. *wanders over to book shelf* OK; "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte and "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte are the only two I have, whereas I have half a dozen by Jane Austin.

Emily Bronte shows a lot of passion in her books, something that Austen lacks. Although I like both authors, if I had to choose one book, I would definitely choose Wuthering Heights. I would prefer to read that than any of Austen's.

Always Jane Austin.
Which Bronte are you referring to?
Anyway do not enjoy their literature.
Possibly because both Bronte sisters were full of angst and I do not do angst.

O the most beautifully written novel I have read was by Austen - I fell in love with Mr Darcy longgg before Colin Firth got his britches wet!
