It depends on what it is. At work, if I do something to help out, even though it's not on my job description, someone has said to me not to do it, because they're afraid it may become part of their job. Laziness comes out at times. In this case, when it helps out, and is not incorrect or improper, there's no reason why I should refrain from doing it. HOWEVER, if the procedure is being duplicated, or triplicated, even after I've done whatever I want to do, then I feel I have the right to refrain from going the extra mile.

Definitely! It's like that with anything for me. I am at work and they tell me not to push a button. Why would they do that? Because now the only thing that I can focus on is that one little button and wondering what happens if I push it. It's that way with everything. Also when peope tell me that I can't do something, it makes me want to do it so much more and to just prove them wrong.

When I was younger yes, rebellion is normal in younger people but now that I'm older (a lot older) I consider why they don't want me to do it and make my decision from there. I've learned that sometimes a no is for my best interest and good.

Definately or if they tell me I NEED to do something..

I definately do not NEED to do anything.
The most succesful bosses I have had know that to get people to do what they want (or not want) the best way is to suggest things or ask, never ever tell them.

That was the tactic used by God for Adam and Eve,"dont eat from the tree of knowledge"....moral of the lesson, every curious act is the beginning of new arrivials, new knowledge, and discovery. Adam and Eve were just bored doing nothing God made their lives interesting dont you agree?? think about it, its true.

Naturally.

Adam and Eve started doing it first.

Remember God told them not to eat the apple and they did?.

After that, all their children & their children's children model after them. i.e. If they are told not to do something, they would do it immediately.

This is also found in the human psychology
