American society has reached the point where we no longer market goods that we produce to make life better, but rather market desires, to consume the goods we produce so that we may consume more goods and services ourselves.
We have lost the anchor of human needs and positive human development, as our purpose in making things. And so we are adrift, and will soon see that we are lost if we cannot find an honorable purpose to our work again.
