Summer In Australia

Officially or actually? Officially December 1. By relation to the sun 21 December (used in the US, not really here in Australia.) Actual? Whenever it damn well pleases... I live in Brisbane. Summer can depend on your defintion a little with a hot spring (which may or may not go into a hot summer...) can start in late August or early September and can go into summer - which may go through to February or March... Or it can be cool summer and doesn't start til into December....

According to Wiki, Australia largely uses the 'meteorology reckoning of seasons' which means that the season starts about 3 weeks earlier than it does in the 'astronomical reckoning of seasons. As a result, Summer would start on the 1st of December.

Well like so many things the Aussies have got it wrong it should be December 23rd astronomically speaking as this is what dictates the seasons, but this is probably too hard for them so they use December 1st, easy no thought required
