I've always thought "right now" is the best of times, since we can only live in the "right now."

And I will always believe that the best times are "right now" and "yet to come..."

Can somebody tell me that they relate to my question? Agree or Disagree, and why?

I agree -and relate-

I find it amusing how people throw around the term "the good ole days" as if the past was way better than the "right now" (or their vision for the "yet to come..."). The Summer of 69 was great...and brings back great memories but...

Just think, sometime down the road, THESE times will be the next "good ole days"!?!

I hate the instant nostalgia of music these days, specifically oldies stations. Now they all play 70s and 80s music. For me it's still too soon to go back to those days. I'd rather call up those memories in my mind rather than hear them blasting out. I just think living through that stuff once was enough.

Call me crazy, but I think having instant access to your past just cheapens your memories. They're not as special. Hearing some song from your past that you nevre thought you'd hear again is OK as long as it's not every hour on the hour. Not sure if that makes sense.

I choose to have selective nostalgia. So, I reckon that's 1/2 agreement with you.

i don't live in the past, and i do embrace the here and now because i respect everyday that i am alive...having said that, every past experience is obviously connected to who i am right now, so i can never regret it; i just try to learn from it if it was bad, and reminisce the fabulous 'now' moments that happened at one time...

great question...have a great day...

You're right, the best times are now and yet to come...no good living in the past, it's dead and buried.

Sorry I disagree...I cherish some of my past memories and wouldn't trade them for the world...True we live in the here and now
and as we do we are creating memories, good or bad that reflect who we are or become in our futures..=)Excellent Question!

yes, people talking about the past all the time seems to imply that NOW is not a good time.
