No. They generally bring the old ones back to boost the ratings. If the show is flagging they should introduce better storylines and interesting NEW characters, not rely on the boomerang club to bail them out.

I love seeing new characters come back (for example, I resumed watching General Hospital after some 20 years, only because Rick Springfield came back to the show as Noah Drake), but I find it's hit and miss as to what's done with the character after all the hoopla has died away. Sometimes the writers do ok, and get it right, but more often it's a hack job. :^(

Yes, I enjoy seeing the old characters come back. It just keeps the soap going on and you can think back of when they were younger.

Yes, but only when they actually give that character a storyline. I was thrilled to see Robert and Anna come back to GH, but the hacks didn't write for them at all and it ended up being a huge disappointment to the actors as well as the fans.

I love to see a old character come back when they know what to do with them. If its just for shock value it plays out and you wish they would have left them out of it.

NO not really. I guess the only time I really cared is when Laura can back to GH for a little while. They only do it to boost ratings. But I do love GH so I guess thats ok.

I love it, I have been watching General Hospital for 30yrs. I know those characters better than I know my own family. It was so sad earlier this year when Alan a character that has been on the show longer than I have been watching it was killed off.

Sometimes I do. When John Abbott comes back as a ghost, I like that.
I've had enough of Sheila; I hope she never comes back.

Usually. Like when "Laura" came back for the anniversary or "Alan" returned as his own ghost on GH.
