Kurt Cobain was the God of the 90's for me, no doubt...I read his Journal...brilliant and idiotic all at the same time...Grunge is still my favorite genre...it made ordinary garage bands into corporations of "brutal honesty" about crappy parents, and shed some light on society's numerous hypocrisies, as well as enabled musicians to be more about the music and the meaningful/bohemian poetic lyrics...(formulaic bathroom rhymes get old quickly...Eddie Vedder was the master at spinning interesting terminological lyrics that nobody else could ever fit into rhythms but him...)
Not the fancy Hair-Do's, or the costumes of the musicians, or the flames shooting up from the stages...just the music...played by ordinary yet talented nobodies...I miss it...
