Run a good Antispyware scan with Superantispyware and A-Squared Free 3.0. Both are free. You may have to do this in safe mode (restart computer and press F8 repeatedly until choice screen appears)

If it finds things you should clean it and then you should probably delete any restore points so it can't come back.

If those can not fix your problem Google for the terms Smitfraud fix and Vundo fix. You may have to use these special programs for removal.

The programs below will help you stop them. Also turn on your pop-up blocker in your browser.

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/...... . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run SuperAntiSpyware---http://www.snapfiles.com/get/SuperAntiSpyware.html

Now to prevent spyware from being installed in the first place....

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html...
SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

ive had this problem in the past, its more than likely spyware or adware, either way you need to remove it, the long option would be to back up all of your hard drives onto discs and completely reboot your computer to its factory state or buy a decent anti spyware program. i use webroot spysweeper, that usually does the trick or look around the internet for recommended antispyware programs. hope you get rid of whatever it is displaying pop-ups because i know, it so annoying!

good luck.

To be rid of the malware, after you have installed the scanning programs listed below, be sure to update them.
A security program is only effective if it updated with the latest definitions. Updating will help provide protection against the most recently introduced security threats.

Run at least one, preferably two
****SUPERAntiSpyware****
http://www.superantispyware.com/...

Ad-Aware
http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Ad-Aware/adaware.html

SpyBot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/

And clean up the clutter with...
CCleaner
