Innocent until proven guilty

It should be the former, and that is what the law states. However, in my experience most people think the other way. And the media whips everyone up as well. I know I have serious doubts about quite a few convictions.

I also like to watch a programme called Crown Court which is screened in the UK on the Legal channel. Actors play the parts and members of the public make up the jury. An awful lot of the time there is no way I would return a guilty verdict, but the public do.

And that has also been my experience of jury service too. Once the finger has been pointed far too many people then make a decision and it's awful hard for the defense to budge them.

Great question! Innocent until proven guilty of course! I am a believer in the death penalty so there has to be 100% proof!! With too many people doing prison time for something that they did not do...you have to be certain. ex: evidence and confession. Without it, one HAS to be assumed innocent.

Guilty until proven innocent. Because you have to sit in jail until after the trial to prove your innocence.

Innocent until proven guilty. Better to set a criminal/offender free than punish an innocent. Lesser of evils.

Eh, guilty until proven innocent. If you are innocent it should not be hard to prove.

Guilty until proved innocent. At least that's how most cops act.
