No matter how we live our life automatically our actions, and behavior influence people. Especially children, and young adults. It might be your peer, an aquaintence, friend, or someone you are related to.
I find this to be a very interesting question. Each person is influenced differently
Some people learn to do positive things, by seeing negative actions and behavior by others. It all depends on their personality.
Some realize that the negative behavior is wrong and thereby they understand that it is not the correct thing to do. They therefore are influenced not to behave, or to do what that person did. It is like learning from others mistakes, and applying it themselves, not to repeat that persons mistake, or way of life.
Others, are influenced by negative behavior and repeat the erroneous behavior. They are not mature or wise enough to understand the consequences of doing or acting in a negative fashion.
I myself was influenced by negative behavior, and learned not to do or behave badly. I saw the consequences of negative actions and did the opposite, which taught me to behave properly. To be kind, speak softly and calmly, and in general to have a pleasant disposition.
People enjoy people who are nice, and have a pleasant disposition.
I have learned many other positive things from positive people also in many other areas of life.
So I say yes, my life has been more worth while. I have been told by some of my grand children that I was their role model by my positive behavior. In fact I still have a letter from one of my grandchildren who at the end of the letter wrote, "where would I be today Grandma if I did not have you as a role model"?
That was 23 years ago. When I found the letter which I had forgotten about. I felt like a millionaire. Every time I think about that letter I still get the same satisfaction, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude for having been a good influence.
Yes my life has been more worth while because of it.

Better than me in what way? If you do your best that is all anybody can ask, so I think my life is worth while even if I would not influence even on person.
The world might be a better place if people would listen to things with an open mind and follow the right influences. And in that even one person can make a difference.

Absolutely! I think we all influence, and are influenced by people on a daily basis. If everyone can make just one person want to be a better person then surely it's completely worth while.

If all of us did the best we could everyday then we would influence people all the time. It's like a pebble tossed into a lake, it's ripples go out for a long ways and we all effect other people in ways we don't even know. I wouldn't judge my value based on this criteria but I hope that my influences have been good for others, as theirs has been good for me.

Your question is a good example of how most of us determine worth. We are worth something if we do something that earns us the real or imagined praise of others. If we accept that notion of worth, we will forever and constantly be trying to do something to earn that praise. People forget and so we have to keep it up.
Christianity teaches that our worth comes, not from what we do, but simply from being a child of God. Just like when we were children, we felt worth simply by being related to our parents. It is a very liberating idea.
