He is still learning and oh what a race to have to learn in. he did make some awful mistakes that cost 1 maybe 2 drivers to retire. i think that knowledge should have been punishment enough really, but i do go a bit soft when i see drivers cry.

He definitely deserves it. The Safety Car period is just that, a period where you are supposed to use extreme caution. Vettel did not and ended up knocking himself and Webber out of the race. If you saw his reaction when he got back to the pits, he was distraught. I felt sorry for him in that yes he is a kid and these things happen. Now I'm sure he will remember this for a very long time and hopefully it will never happen again.

But I also think Webber should have not said what he did about Vettel being a kid and having no experience and that's what happens when kids are out there. The only way to ever get experience is to be on track and learn. Everyone has to be a rookie once. I'm sure Webber did some things other drivers didn't like in his rookie year.

Well, somewhere you have got to learn and Vettel learned a lot.

I am not sure if he will make such mistakes again. As for the penalty, it is not a question of did he deserve it or not...it was simply the punishment he gets for making such mistakes.

He totally deserved it. He hit alonso and damaged his car, which was probably what caused the spaniard to crash. Then he ruins webber's chance at a win by driving into him under a yellow flag, an accident that could have easily been avoided. He's lucky webber didn't come after him in the pits.

vettel hasnt been punished hard enough i think, i think he should be banned for the rest of the season, he screwed mark webber out of a victory or a chance of a victory, and red bull dont get many chances like this, but i guess these things happen in f1 but they happen all the time for mark, i feel so sorry for him, ecspecially since he was also sick in his helmet at the start.

Yes, I felt very bad for him. How could you not when he was literally in tears. The penalty is to be expected considering it happened under the safety car.

Obviously he didn't mean to hit Webber behind the SC, but hey rules are rules. I just wish they weren't so inconsistent about applying them.

I say he deserves it. He is playing with the big boys now and the rules are even across the board.

i think he did something really stupid. The crash did cost him, Webber, AND the Team big time. but i suppose it wasn't intentional. or was it? the punishment shouldnt have been so harsh
