Congrats for going for it. There'll be loads of other mature students at whichever uni you go to, and there will be events set up so you can meet them so you won't feel old!

I am also 23 (starting my PhD so also technically a fresher) and I'm doing some student representation things and all the people there are much younger than me but they are all lovely! I don't think age matters at all.

Have fun :)

Yeah I know they say 21 is mature students, but some people on a four year programme would be classed as mature students before they even graduate if they started at 18!

I am 22 and doing nursing as well. I dont consider myself a mature student at all! Nursing attracts a lot of different people from different backgrounds...

...some people start nursing well into their 40s and 50s because they've decided they have a sudden calling.

Early 20's?! you is only no longer a mature scholar! There are human beings of their 50's and 60's on those classes! Do you have A-levels? you could want those, in spite of the undeniable fact that some uni's take matures pupils without those. you could desire to observe to the scholars loan organization for a loan and then detect some classes you could want to bypass on. then you certainly observe to those Uni's via the UCAS gadget (in case you have neglected the lifeless line you could bypass via clearing). they'll touch the uni's on your behalf and touch you with an furnish of a place. The uni the want furnish you lodging recommendations, that are decrease priced regularly. for extra earnings you could artwork area time and at weekends. have you ever considered doing a area-time degree, it is going to take you longer yet you ought to artwork besides. you will actual no longer be the oldest there as maximum pupils take a minimum of one or 2 years out earlier commencing their degree. It takes lots of guts in spite of the undeniable fact that it is incredibly nicely worth it. good success!

Good for you, but we wouldn't consider anyone a mature student unless they were over 30 when they started. At many schools, you are well below the average age of entering freshmen.
