Thank you friends. I am currently student i need the laptop for ordinary works (Internet, Microsoft office...DVD riping/burning) and of course for statistical analysis (SPSS or others). I don't do programing or play games. What do you say?

Those with AMD processors are usually priced comparable to those with Intel Core Duo (32bit Yonah2 core). The more expensive ones have the faster Core2 Duo (Conroe) processor. Check out rankings below. Core2 Duo dominate the top positions:

If you are just a casual user rather than a power user or a gamer, you could opt for the cheaper processors.

Both companies make great chips. Better for you all depends on what you're going to be using the computer for. If you're just using the computer for word processing and internet, go for the cheapest one. If you're going to use your computer for graphic intense computer games, I would say go for the AMD Athlon 64. Generally you get more bang for your buck with an AMD (desktop based computer).
For a laptop I would recommend an Intel Core 2 Duo, T7200 or above. Intel has always seemed to have to upper hand for laptop based chips. The AMD Turion chips don't seem to be as available and have as much power.
There isn't much difference in price between the two different manufacturers. You can't compare raw clock speed or model numbers, you can only really compare based on performance difference. A great place to do some research would be tomshardware.com or motherboards.org.

If you looking for laptop i suggest go for Intel (core 2 duo) processor , it is good for office applications, as well as good for entertainment.but if you are a hardcore gamer or using visual designing programs then I'll recommend to you go for AMD (Turion ) processor with a good graphic card. Here price pay an important roll ........ so look for your requirement. Than only take design which product you have to purchase.

Most people say that AMD chips perform better that their Intel counterparts. However, Intel chipsets handle heat better. If you're going to use your laptop in cool tempratures, go ahead and buy AMD
