Is it still sports related if he retired a couple of decades ago?

Because ESPN is only responsible to the advertising dollar and cable subscribers dollar. Which means that being sports isn't as important as being something that people will tune in to see. And unfortunatly, OJ Simpson is something that people want to see.

ESPN is sports news. Since OJ was an NFL icon at one time for a long time, (even though it was like 30+ years ago) they will cover the news concerning him.

ESPN has to fill their time with as much sports-related information (not necessarily news per se) as they can possibly fit in, just like news networks. They have to find SOMEthing to talk about for 24 hours, whether it's real news or not.

Yes becuse he was in the nfl and a hiesmen trophy winner also the reason this is all going down is of autographed photos and the autographs are worth more cause he played in the nfl and was a college star
