Lewis only needs to win the next race to clinch the title. If not, he requires a fourth place and a fifth place, to finish with a guaranteed one point lead. If his car is reliable and he finishes both races, he will get at least two fourth places, assuming Phillipe, Fernando and Kimi all finish ahead of him. So, I believe it is safe enough to say that "Lewis is F1 World Champion for 2007" and it's well deserved as Lewis did not need Ferraris help to improve his car, unlike Fernando, nor as he forced his team mate off the track at the first corner. Lewis has proven that he is a capable F1 driver that can remain calm, regardless of how pi**ed off he may be. He has the skill to analyze every part of the track to find the best grip both on-line and off-line, which no other F1 driver has. As for those that have been criticising him for receiving "special treatment" from Ron Dennis and McLaren, that's bulls**t. The only reason the team appear that way is because they have worked with Lewis for many years and get on well with him. With Lewis they can work as a team and be a team. Alonso has proven that he cannot work with the McLaren team, does not want to work in a team and cannot get on with anybody at McLaren Therefore, it's obvious that some team members will only speak to him when they have to, just as he won't speak to them. Lewis has done F1 proud this year whereas Alonso turned F1 into a circus and he led the clowns. I agree, "WELL DONE LEWIS!"

Yes! He has a 12 point lead over Alonso and a 17 point lead over Kimi. Nor Alonso nor Raikkonen can do anything about it. Hamilton is worth the title.

lewis's chance to win the championship may be 95% as there is only 2 more races left.. unless lewis cant maintain his performance, alonso will grab the trophy then . besides, the gap btw lewis and alonso is only 12 points... not really a promising figure to ensure lewis will win the trophy.

He's got it locked up. Unless Alonso and Raikkonen make a pact to take Hamilton out, it's over. I just don't like him winning the title, not just because he is a rookie, but because his team was excluded from this year's championship. Mclaren was punished for having Ferrari's documents and Lewis Hamilton got no points deduction though he was driving a Mclaren car. That is not fair to the rest of the field, especially Ferrari's drivers.
Tainted season. Tainted constructors champ. Tainted drivers champ.

Well, the odds of Kimi or Alonso winning are very thin....and I do think he has one hand on the championship...
but,who knows, this is Formula One we are talking about, remember?

providing he can finish the next 2 races in the points then it is as good as his, but as we all know anything can happen in F1. cracking race today though, he did brilliantly. a good result for him and McLaren

Yes pretty much, so long as he keeps his head. I think he proved to us all this morning (Im in the UK) he can handle the pressure.
