i recently bought a hp pavillion a6230n desktop pc....i downgrade from vista to windows xp.....now theres no sound...i dont have a volume in the left corner anymore...and it say i dont have a active mixer device...HELP........

i dont know what drives to install in my computer....since i had to delete everything to install the xp....and my xp disx doesnt have any drives install on it

Vista is funny like that, this happened to me when I was dual booting XP and Vista, somehow Vista takes control of everything, the only way to get your sound back is to go back to HP website and redownload drivers for XP sound for your model then it will work.

After a new OS installation, you NEED to install ALL drivers. It usually comes in a separate CD when PC or motherboard is new. You could also download all of those drivers at HP's website.
