im not sure what would bring you immediate relief, but cranberry juice and water are wonderful at clearing these up, and great preventative measures for the future.
other juices also make great antioxidants if cranberry isnt your thing < blueberry, pomegranate, etc. >
the blood is not "normal" but it is part of the progression of a uti, the infection could < or may have already > reach your bladder, if you dont catch it in time.
even though it hurts, pee as much as possible. and drink lots of fluids.
id probably get a jug of water < or cran juice if you have it >, and a good book. and spend the night on the toilet.

Okay..... I get these a lot. Blood in the urine is the sign that it is time to stop waiting and get into the ER. If it gets into your kidney's it can be BAD. You can also have further problems. That being said...... there are some things you can do to help alleviate the pain. You can get over the counter phenazopyridine. They sell it by the name of AZO, and Walgreen's if you have one makes a generic brand as well. If you take a dose of those, some cranberry pills, drink a TON of water and a hot shower you will feel better. The AZO is simply for the pain. It numbs your urinary tract. It will make you feel better, but you WILL NOT ACTUALLY be better. It will also tamper with your urine sample results and make it a bit harder for them to diagnose you.
Those are some tips for next time, but you need to go to the ER. You are not going to feel better tonight. I repeat... blood in the urine... GET TO THE ER NOW.
I know it's expensive, but you really need to.
For the future... wipe front to back, drink lots of water daily, pee after you have sex EVERYTIME........
Oh yeah... they often but you on high power antibiotics. Be sure to eat yogurt with live cultures daily while taking these to avoid getting a yeast infection.

The blood is normal, but usually just on the tissue when you clean up. If there is A LOT, then don't wait, go now to the doctor. If it's just a bit on the tissue, then go to the drug store and get Azo Standard over the counter. It will help the pain.
drink LOTS of cranberry juice to kill the bacteria and take some Dandilion Root extract to help flush the kidneys and bladder.
Do this and you likely won't have to go to the doctor.

Drink A LOT of water and if you can get some cranberry juice drink alot of the. Make sure its pure juice, no added sugar or other juices. My mom had a very bad UTI after she had me and the Dr. would not give her meds for it because she was breast feeding me. She was also bleeding. She just had to flush out the infection on her own. You are in pretty bad shape. Mkae sure you see a Dr. ASAP. Blood in your urine means the infection is bad especially if it is a lot.

there is actually no way to treat UTI by yourself. you have to go to your doctor for a prescription. Yes, you have to worry if blood already comes out because it means that your UTI is already chronic or longstanding.
UTI is recurrent so once you already had it, it will keep on coming back especially if you are not careful with hygiene. You have to practice proper washing of your genitals after defecation, you also must have your partner checked because UTI can be transmitted through sexual contact. You must not confuse UTI as a sexually transmitted disease. Although it can be transmitted through sex, UTI can also develop especially in women with poor personal hygiene.
You also must have at least 7 days of medication with antibiotics done thrice a day. After which, you have to confirm if it is resolved by having urinalysis. If resolved, medication can be stopped, if not another 7 days of medication must be continued.
If pain is felt at home, pain relievers cannot stop that. Just keep on drinking water but i suggest that you have to see your doctor at once because chronic UTI can eventually infect the kidneys and that is worst.

Blood in the urine? I think maybe you should go to emergency now! I used to be able to treat UTIs by myself by drinking absolutely loads of water (sometimes with cranberry juice), but they were very very minor.

Blood in the urine is not normal and can be a sign of urinary tract infection. I would also recommend calling your doctor's after hours line to find out if he/she is on call this weekend to see what they suggest.
