Well, diplomatic solutions with military governments are always going to be an exercise in futility! I just read that the citizens of Burma are already losing hope n the face of the worlds inaction. Just think, all those videos and pleas from ordinary people and we do nothing! I have said it before and Ill say it again, the U.N. is useless! It is a meeting place for talk while people who struggle for freedom die!

FRAGINAL-NOYPI, are you serious? No products come from Burma in order to boycott them! You really need to understand the mind of a Dictator!

OxyRush_Phlegmball, you are ill informed sir!! This pro-democracy movement started in 1988 which was put down violently and never a word was spoken about it until now. And again it is being put down violently!

I hope not.

I can't imagine the military junta can lasting indefinatly and hte country would be much better off with a different form of government, but it doesn't look like happening anytime soon. I think the military have shown they won't be handing over power, or even tollerating protests, so the situation is likely to become a lot more dangerous.

Yes pretty much... the whole thing reminds me of Tiananmen Square and we saw how that went nowhere.

I doubt it.

They have put up with a ton of crap from their government for many years and have finally had enough. Once movements like this get started, they are hard to put out.
