My son had something similar and it turned out to be nothing.

the lump that you feel on the lower left side of the neck is an inflammed cervical lymph node. there is actually nothing to worry because it simply means that the boy's immune system is currently combatting an infection.
one thing to be cautious though, an inflammed lymph node suggests an ongoing infection. since the enlarged lymph node is in the neck area, it suggests an infection either from the mouth or from the lungs. better have the boy checked by a doctor so that appropriate medications can be given especially if its a respiratory infection.

Sounds like a swollen gland...they go away. But to be on the safe side go see a doctor...it could be related to an ear infection, a sore throat, a number of causes.

its a gland if u feel hard enough around ur neck u can feel one too ,normally can be more prominate when a slight fever is coming or sore throat ,ask the doctor to be on safe side
