Its quite embarrassing but the last couple of days my urine has been quite smelly, more like a fishy smell and quite strong. What does this mean?

You definately need to see your doctor. Make an appointment.
In the meantime, drink more water and cranberry juice (not cocktail).

Drink more water in the meantime, but go and see your GP, you might be having urine infection. The best way for you to find out is to get your urine tested.

Are you sure it is your urine and not internal? Fishy odors can be related to std's and uti's. I would recommend contacting your dr if this goes on for more than a few days or symptoms get worse. Just to rule out kidney or liver function problems.

Actually, it is embarassing and I know it full well because I had it a while ago. It is, I believe, some sort of urinary tract infection. I highly recommend you to see a doctor about it. The medicine that really worked for me (its not OTC so you have to get a prescription) is called Ciprofloxacin =) Hope this helps

That you could have an infection going on. The only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think is going on.

There are a number of possible causes:

Certain foods can cause temporarily (e.g. asparagus)
