try to avoid sprinkler spraying towards the house, this is easy to do, just change some sprinkler heads that shoots away from the house, and also try to install catch drains, it is not difficult to do, I did this years ago same situation like yours.... make sure to test the drainage pipe water goes to the side yard and out towards the front of the house, you should hire a concrete/cement contractor to drill a hole on the cement curb, that's where the extra water runs out. I had my gardener installed a drainage system, they installed perforated pipe, it failed because I have clay soil, it is the best you do it yourself.

You need to back fill it. you have an low grad that slops towered the house. A landscaper can come in and remove the grass and put some more dirt in and then replace the grass, so that the water will slop away from the house. And yes it can cause mold after prolonged exposure, but a landscaper can fix your problem every easily. Good luck.

I would slope the earth away from the house. You probably could do it yourself, but it could be quite a task. Putting in a drainage pipe is also an idea.
Maybe the guys from Lowes or home depot can direct you on how to do do the project or can recommend a reputable person to do the job.

taking into consideration that the hosue is 55 years old, I will assume you have galvanized piping. With this in mind, I will also assume that you have a pipe coming from the water heater that has corroded shut over the years. It may be a very simple fix, it may not. The cold water coming into the water heater, provodes the pressure to push the hot water through the pipes, no problem with cold water pressure, therefore in my opinion, nothing is frozen. Without actually seeing it in person, it would be very hard for anyone to troubleshoot your problem. I would have it looked at by someone who knows what they are looking at. Galvanized piping is infamous for corroding shut and your houses age is about right for it to be happening.

The yard needs to slope away from the house. Also make sure that you have gutters and down spouts that run away from the house. The green stain is algae.

I had to bring my yard up to the base of the house and slope it away, it formed a pool around the house and, we got a wet basement every time it rained.
We had to redo the entire yard, it's very nice now.

Yes, it is a problem. Need to slope the yard away from your house, my local code calls for ten feet of slope for drainage.
