Anti-Caucasian demagogue Jesse Jackson summoned an army of cockroaches to swarm over Jena to protest...not against six thugs who beat a lone white student into unconsciousness and left him for dead, but...against the authorities for arresting the perpetrators
WASHINGTON, Friday, September 28, 2007 — On September 20, 2007, the American Red Cross, at the request of the State of Louisiana, provided humanitarian aid at ten comfort stations in Jena.

According to the article, "A state of emergency was declared in the parish." I don't think you should be angry at the Red Cross but you should be angry at the Governor of Louisiana for declaring a state of emergency. The Red Cross are just "following orders"! For my opinion, I don't see why the Governor would make this declaration for a protest.
Lets look at the issue for what it is. This was a hate crime. I really don't know the hate crime law or the normal laws of Louisiana but the Jena 6 should have equal treatment under the law.

There shouldn't have even been a march for the Jena 6. Imagine what would happen if 6 white teenagers assaulted 1 unarmed black teenager. All 6 of the white teenagers would be charged with hate crimes, & would probably be facing up to 20 years in prison. There wouldn't be anyone protesting for them. But when 6 black teenagers assault 1 unarmed white teenager, people are defending their actions because they faced racism, & they're being punished to harshly. I don't know why the Red Cross would give supplies to marchers who are defending 6 criminals. I guess some things in life just don't make any sense.

I agree with Randa S maybe they are so dependent on government help that they didn't think of bringing water for there self's. As far as mr jackson, he seems to be inciting a lynch mob doesn't he.As far as the red cross I think they did right by giving out water and food to the protesters. They probably stopped a larger debacle when the protesters couldn't get those things from the local shops. Or if the local shops ran out.

You have a right to anonymously spew BS all over YAHOO. If they don't care, I don't care.
But at least TRY and add A FACT or two. The protesters, American citizens expressing THEIR right to assembly, WERE NOT protesting against "authorities for arresting the perpetrators." THAT IS AN OUT-AND-OUT LIE...and you KNOW it.
The protest had absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ARRESTS. The protests were in response to THE CHARGES levied against ONE...ONE...ONE of the Six defendants. ONE...was being charged AS AN ADULT...FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER...AFTER A FIGHT AT SCHOOL.
MANY LEGAL SCHOLARS of many races and backgrounds AGREED that the ONE student was OVER-CHARGED.
THE (white)JUDGE...who REDUCED THE CHARGES...this week, thought that the charges were out of line.
If after a FAIR trial, he is found guilty, then I and ALL OF THE "COCKROACHES" THAT I KNOW, ...feel that he should face whatever the criminal statutes throw at him. I feel that the State of Louisiana has a good case against the accused WITHOUT LIES AND HYPERBOLIC BULL-SHIITE from the likes of you....

And I thought the Red Cross was only to supply the needy.
Well There goes another I no longer donate to. And I think calls to them should be given to them.

Because this organization, unlike any other in the world, does not ever see race, color, creed, national origin, gender, veteran status, sexual orientation, religion, political status, age, ethnicity, or any other artificial construct or categorization of mankind.
This organization, unlike any other in the world, sees only humanitarian need and responds to that need as best it is able.
It has no nationality nor religion. It has no ties to any of these artificial barriers that we humans tend to create while classifying each other.
And because this organization, unlike any other in the world, refuses to take any side in any debate - some people who can not understand what humanity really is will continue to deride them.
It's really that simple - it's because they don't care if you think someone is racist or not; they see suffering and they respond as best they can. Tell me again how bad they are after your house burns down and you have no clothes, after a hurricane and you have no food, during a war and you need their communication network, when the s*** hits the fan and you're safe at home while they're out there deep in it... tell me again how "bad" these colorblind humanitarians are.
They say they provided services to: "for law enforcement personnel, marchers, community residents and members of the media." Which of these would you prefer be left suffering? The police? Community residents? or just the ******* you hate so much?

Do you read your own drivel before you post?
According to your post, the State of Louisiana requested it. . The infrastructure of that small town (population 2,850) was overwhelmed by a crowd numbering in the tens of thousands. Businesses reported in advance they would not be open that day. A state of emergency was declared in the parish.
Try to THINK before you post!

the marchers are on the right side of the issue. they weren't thugs, they were students, and it was a high school fight, he barely had bruises, he went out and partied that night.
there is still racism in this country, there is racial injustice all over the courts and the classrooms. a study just came out showing that black students are treated more harshly for the same infractions, and that's exactly what happened in Jena.
go ahead, let your racism (cockroaches?) stop you from donating to the red cross, that'll teach those damn hurricane and flood victims!
