Man, what a question. I must admit this had me rubbing my forehead and losing some sleep trying to remember.
The German band name would be Blackwater Park.
The album itself is Dirtbox. Gritty, heavy metal music. Lots of raw guitar. Would love to hear the original record, but it met an untimely death when tornado took out home, scattering music everywhere across Illinois.

I know the Swedish metal band was Opeth and the album was "Blackwater Park". I'm assuming the German band was called Blackwater but I admit that I've never heard of them..
