well I believe in always being honest so I gave her an honest answer, I told her it wouldnt hurt her to lose a few pounds. Then she accused me of "putting her husband up to calling her a fat ***". (her husband is my ex). Should I have just lied to her?

That's a totally loaded question and your friend was in the wrong for asking it. If she didn't want to know your actual answer, then she shouldn't have asked, it was a question and you had every right to answer in the way you wanted too. I have a feeling no matter what your answer would have been she would have found a reason to be angry with you, like if you had said that "No not at all" she would have accused you of being a liar.

Your friend needs to take some time to calm down about the situation and hopefully come around and you guys can talk about what happened, until then I would just let her stew in her own juices right now.
