i just bought three 10cm sarasa comets and released them into my pond. i left the bag floating for 15 mins and poured some pond water into the bag to sit 4 another 10mins. then i let them out. It has been 2 days now since i released them but they don't seem to move around much. my pond is cycled (left for 1.5 months) and the ph and stuff are perfect
Are they just shy or sick?
thank u 4 all the help n replies

Even though you're starting your spring season, your water temperature may still be the cause. If the water's less than 11oC the fish won't be as active as when the water is warmer. Even though your air temperature may be warm, the ground may be keeping the water cooler than you think.
Also, how deep is your pond. If there are any predators around your neighborhood, they may feel safer where the water is deeper.

First off i make the presumption that you live in the contiguous U.S. . That being said , it is getting colder all around this time of year. Fish of all sorts are cold blooded, it's possible and quite plausible that your fish are trying to remain warm down at the bottom of your pond. It is warmer down there as it is closer to the warm earth thats soaked up the suns rays all summer...this is not a scientific answer based on just a thought. Al;so how big is this pond? maybe the fish are frightened of a new larger environment and fell as though they're hiding when they are at the bottom.again just a thought.

you should really leave the bag for about an hour to allow them to aclimatise. but since it has been two days there is probably another reason.
i dont know if fish can get shy (lol!) but i believe your problem would most likely be an environmentally caused one. it is likely they are allergic to certain plants or algea in the water or they mightn't be recieving enough oxygen. i'd go back to the pet store because they are usually really nice about giving quick advice!! :)

actually its because the water is too cold and the water near the bottom is warmer if they were dead they would be floating
