Pardon by the President is good only for ex-President Joseph Estrada but it will encourage corruption because people will assume that they will be pardoned even if they rob the coffers of government. The case must be reviewed by the Supreme Court to find out if there is really a case of Plunder. If there is no plunder that was committed, acquit the suspect.

No. They already announced the verdict of 'guilty' and now they are having second thoughts on that just because of its political implications. The government should be firm in its decisions especially since by going after the 'big fishes' they are sending a strong message to corrupt officials from the highest offices down to the lower branches of the government. If the court really found evidence that implicates him, then Pres. Estrada should serve his time in jail. And no, the time he spent in his home/farm where he was said to be detained for the past years does NOT count. He should serve his time in jail just like every other ordinary citizen convicted of a crime.
