no, i'm not pessimistic enough to say something can and will go wrong and at the worst times. that is purely subjective (it's all in the mind), and you're lying to yourself and trying to rationalize it. you're trying to discourage yourself from ever trying anything at all and from taking responsibility.
i like trying, and i also like to be in control -- knowing that what i get out of something depends mainly on the effort and care i put into it. needless to say if i don't put enough effort and care into something, then of course something will go wrong, but i will both know and admit that it was my fault.
i think people who believe in Murphy's law have too much pride and are either afraid to admit when they're wrong or just afraid of failure.

I prefer the wisdom contained in Warnecke's Law: "The odds are eight to five that the light at the end of the tunnel is on the front of an oncoming express train".
He made Captain Neil Murphy look like an optimist! LOL!

Yes! Especially when it comes to glass breaking! In this house, anything glass is bound to break. I know that is not exactly what Murphy's law says, but close enough!

Absolutely.
And also this one:
* 0th law: there is a game
* 1st law: you can't win
* 2nd law: you can't break even
* 3rd law: You can't even quit the game

Of Course... it's common sense... "Anything that can go wrong, will."
Think about it... obviously something that CAN go wrong must have gone wrong in the past... or else, no one would've known that it is wrong.
So, the statement that 'anything that can go wrong, will go wrong'.. is a fact.
If it was incapable of going wrong, it wouldn't go wrong... but anything that has even a slight chance of going wrong, WILL go wrong at some point in history.
