His answers were ridiculous, and he dodged each and every question without answering it.
He didn't make any sense at all. I was half cringing/half laughing while watching it.

He has said in the past what he believes, that the holocaust is a lie, that Israel should be wiped off the map and that his nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. The reality is that Iran will have the ability to launch nuclear weapons and reach Israel in a couple of years (the US says not till 2012), but the fact is Ahmadnijad or whatever his name is was lying if he said otherwise.

It's tough to know... the news has been villainizing him all day.
And that is not good... it makes Muslim Fundamentalists feel more emboldened when we make their politicians out to be villains.
I wish Americans would learn that when we portray leaders of other countries in a negative light, it's only a matter of time before the world turns around and says "Yeah, but what has the USA done for me lately?"

His questions were consistent with his statements over many years. The only "news" was the shoddy treatment he received. He was invited to speak at Columbia, then attacked by the Dean of the Univ. during introduction remarks. It probably strengthened his position with his people, and made the US and academia look bad. As he said, you don't invite someone to speak then attack them. He showed himself a bigger man by ignoring the attacks.

i agree with stephen in that it is amazing the way the media and government are painting a false picture over his speach. i actually listened to the whole thing and i was just shocked at the medias interpretation of it.
the most important lesson i learned is that you simply cannot listen to the news or any form of media because its all garbage.
his speach made me see that he was a human and it sounded to me like he wanted peace and friendship and maybe if we worked with iran we could have that.
i REALLY dont think he is the insane mad man that he is painted as being.

it seemed to me he was just making a speech that would be acceptable to his keepers back at home. I cannot say for sure, all I can say is that even though he represents a country that is feared by many Americans he should be given the right to talk to people that wish to speak to him and hear him speak. Anyone that was upset because he was allowed to speak his views to Americans who wanted to understand what the hell he is about. doesnt really understand what america is truly about.

Before his speech from my research, I saw him as a more.... what is the word.. not open-minded but a less fanatical person.
His speech actually reminded me of the extremism of Bush Jr... with his constant reference to religion instead of logic.
I have been one to stand by Iran's right to research nuclear energy (not weapons) because they are a viable member of the NPT. I also agreed with a speech he gave last year about the UN.. stating 'was the 5 powers after WW2 of the UN suppose to rule the earth infinitely.' I agreed with his arguments.
Yet, like I said before, his extremism really shined in his speech and makes me nervous. We already have an extremist in power here... it appears he is a Bush clone or vice versa.

He demonstrated what happens when you fuse religion and government. He should have been a lesson to Americans but I think they missed the point.

I have the impression that he's a bit out of his depth, at home and abroad.
Considering the position he's in, I wish him lots of luck.

Some parts were a little off base but most of it is the truth and our media and its parent the government like to paint a completely false picture of him and its indeed sad to know just how much we are lied to.
