Any sort of advanced society needs a way to allocate resources and money does that beautifully. Without money, all you can have is a primitive subsistence society.
Money doesn't have to be pieces of paper. Just something that's not easy to come by that everyone agrees has value and will accept for goods or services.

Even in a world with money that's not the measure of success. Success is achieving what you want most in life. Goals are individual and not all people are obsessed with wealth.

i guess "peace of mind"... a good sleep & waking up w/out hating the world. True that money keeps the world go round but it is also true that real happiness can only be felt in unwordly things. sigh...
