Actually, we're tied at 31 -- with Greece.

But that's not much better. I expect that poll has been taken since Bush has been President. Love Bush or hate him, Bush has NOT been fair to the Press. Administration officials are often available for interview on Fox News, and I've heard of several circumstances on the news about the Press Secretary's office giving "instructions" to the press.

Earlier this week I saw that the NSA is asking the press to censor their own work, and phrase things a certain way, so the bad guys don't get information.

Once we start censoring our press, basically the only source of getting current news to the people, then the people o longer know what the government is doing. And then we become no better than those countries with "state-run news" that our own government is always so concerned about.

I'm not surprised either, in a one-party state that answers critics with "You are anti-American, leave the country". Makes Burma look benign.

Gee! If we're that bad, then maybe we need to close one of the two offices of Reporters Without Borders in this country. We seem to be the only country that has two offices instead of just one. They must have missed something about freedom of movement in their survey.
