hey. ignore the idiot above me...cruel..
anyway lol well when i had fish they always died on me, if it wasnt the pH it would be the temperature if it wasnt the temp itd be the amonia and on it went...i just tried everything n it never worked so im not the best here..but better than the above answer...
is the tank close to a window? often just sun light changes the pH quite quickly...i mean sometimes tanks, depending on kinds of fish in them, where the tank is situated, temperature and the overall environemt, are just more touchy than others it cant be helped...if it comes down to it you may just have to check the pH daily...im sure there are some toher chemicals out there, but i dont really agree with adding tonnes of chemicals to a fish tank.. i mean the have survived out in the wild for years before we had them as pets so too many man made chemicals dont seem natural. anyway if it proves too difficult to maintain daily pH, temp n all that, maybe consider a different, easier pet?

Forget chemicals

Check the pH of your tapwater, then you know if it comes from there

there are natural ways to dicrease pH, which one of them is peatmoss or also driftwood will lower it naturally

you might have put to many chemicals in there, and your fish are dying because of the rapid pH changes you give them

Hope that helps
Good luck

Sounds to me like you put in a marine substrate into a freshwater tank. What type of substrate did you put into your tank? Was it made specifically for a freshwater tank (ie Gravel?) or did you put in a sand intended for a marine tank (ie Sand or Crushed Coral?). If you put in a marine substrate called aragonite or crushed coral it is made out of a compound that increases the pH of water (its called buffering).

Add sodium bicarbonate.

If the fish swell up like little bananas then just forget it and find a new hobby !! sell your aquarium on e-bay !
