I prefer thrash and progressive...can listen to Melodeath, Goth, and Industrial some times too. Faves right now are Megadeth and Metallica.

I'm into almost every type of metal except nu-metal. I love death, doom, thrash, black, progressive, folk/viking, avant-garde, power, gothic, melodic death, heavy, grindcore, stoner, even some hair metal.
The only type of metal I will not listen to is NSBM.
Favorite bands: Iron Maiden, Candlemass, Queensryche, Tool, Acid Bath, Danzig, Dio, Anthrax, Gorgoroth, Emperor, High On Fire, Lord Weird Slough Feg, Gojira, Carcass, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, Kyuss, Entombed, Armored Saint, Cathedral, Death, Evergrey, In Flames, Illnath, Type O Negative, Savatage, Winds, My Dying Bride, Nile, Behemoth, etc...

Plain old heavy metal is my favorite.
Besides that, I enjoy thrash metal, progressive metal, and some power metal. All are great genres to listen to. I also listen to a small bit of groove metal (Pantera), but it doesn't appeal as much. Also, funk metal, if that counts, and a couple alternative metal bands/songs.
I hate nu metal and death metal in particular. I don't like most hair metal as well.

Among others at least. I'm always looking for more.

Mainly only Progressive, the only 2 bands I'm really into that is metal is Dream Theater and Opeth, and both are Porg metal.
I also do love Megadeth and Metallica, but not to the same extent as DT and Opeth.

Heavy metal, black, symphonic. Those are my faovrite.
Dethklok, Lamb of God, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, and Orgy are some of my favorite bands.

i like some good thrash every once in awhile, like grimple, DRI, etc. But for the most part i just like the good ole rock n roll like motorhead, MOD, pantera, etc.
