I guess football, baseball, hockey, golf, etc, are all games for unskilled athletes? It takes no skill to play any of those sports?

Because you have to be athletic. It takes more than standing and throwing a dart. There is running, swinging, diving, sliding, and throwing involved. To throw a dart or play billiards requires less action/ motion. You don't have to be physically fit in order to play them. Baseball is most definitely a sport.

Because it is a sport, unlike darts, billiards, hunting, fishing, or golf.
Baseball requires athleticism. You have to run, you have to throw a ball faster and further than you would a dart, you have to dive, slide, jump, etc. It takes strength and bat speed to hit a ball 400 feet.
How can you possibly compare it to darts or billiards, which any old, out of shape person could be good at?

I am guessing your not American. I don't get soccer either, but i don't pretend its not a legitimate sport, just a sucky one. But to the point, your comment would only make sense if baseball was only about the battle between the pitcher and hitter. Like if the only objective was to strike the batter out or have the ball hit in to play. But anyone who's actually seen a baseball game understands its so much more (fielding, baserunning, ect.)

you don't have to have any skill to throw a dart at a board. but to smash a home run off a 90 mile per hour pitch takes a lot of skill. you have to have to be athletic to play baseball. how can you even compare it to playing darts which takes absolutely no athleticism whatsoever

Strength, endurance, exceptional physical ability, teamwork, hand-eye coordination, speed, and agility for starters. Try hitting a round ball travelling at about 90 mph and not exactly going straight with a round bat. There may not be a harder sport on the planet.

It IS a game. Greatest game ever invented.
Now, if you think it doesn't require athletic ability, why don't YOU become a player and earn your millions. I'll be here with the Ben Gay and bandages when you get back.
