Don't waste any more of your life in a bad relationship, you will not be young forever. If you are the sole owner of the house talk to a real estate agent, they will be able to determine if the market is good enough for you to sell or if it best to rent. Talk to a lawyer. Eliminate all joint credit cards and bank accounts and auto loans. Look for a place to move to and pack and leave. You need to develop an exit plan, and focus on setting a date for each step of the plan.
I wish you a better life.

Getting out of a marriage depends on where you live. For example, in Texas, you can get divorced, as long as you have lived in Texas for 6 months, and 90 days in the same county. You can get divorced even if your spouse does not want a divorce. Please note, that in some states, you need to be married for a certain number of years before you can be eligible for alimony (spousal maintenance). In Texas, you have to be married for 10 years before you can seek spousal maintenance. My advice, is to find an attorney.

If you have children, the divorce will be more expensive since there are more papers to file.

Attorneys can be expensive, if you want pro bono (free) legal services, check your city's "volunteer lawyer program" or go to a local law school's "clinic program". Most law schools have a clinic where they provide legal services for school credit.

I think you are just going to have to do it. Get it over with and move out. It sounds like you are scared and that is normal but you will figure everything out. If you own the house I think you should rent it out. Would he still live there? I don't know the whole situation, but if you could get out and find a nice apartment to rent and get back on your feet, that would suit you well. But just take that leap and get out. Its not worth living an unhappy life.

I know it's scary.... I've been there before, and it's terrifying. Trust me, things DO work out. Things DO come together. Money ends up coming in, custody is figured out and life begins again. I can't really offer you any advice, other than to just make the CHOICE and don't look back.

hang in there hun. it DOES get better. You just need to choose your path.

Unless your spouse has committed adultery, you don't have a valid reason for divorce.

If you have that valid reason, call a divorce lawyer and get a consultation.
