I absolutely love older women.! Older meaning 10-20 years my senior (I am 28) I believe they are so sexy, self assured and honest. They are experienced and you know where you stand. If they want something you will surely be told exactly what it is they want. No hidden agendas. What are your thoughts on this, ladies? Is this normal of more of a latent Oedipus complex?

Congratulations! you know what you like. i like that. by the time a woman reaches her late 30s, 40s and beyond, she has learned alot about what she wants. probably got a few miles on her (lol!), maybe has children, is not afraid to speak her mind and less likely to put up with bullsh#@. Sexy and self assured, yes. I think it comes with the territory. Forget the Oedipus complex thing. People are always trying to attach a label to something. Just appreciate who you are and what you like. I'm a 44 year old woman, I have four children ages 21 down to 17. I used to think i preferred older men, until i went around the block with this guy who was 11 years older than me. he had a problem keeping it in his pants, he was a musician, and bipolar with a bend toward promiscuity. i can't give up on older men, he was on the fringe. the guy i'm dating now is the same age that i am and we get along great because we accept an appreciate our differences. i had an encounter with a guy who is 25 years old. he lilkes older women. he asked me to be his girlfriend. i wouldn't do it because one day he wants to have children, or so he says(i'm fixed!). i'm happy where i am at. glad you're happy with what you want. Well, I like younger men...I'm 28 too. Older women do tend to be more confident and sure of what they want. It is normal to want to be with a woman who knows what she wants. Also sexually they are soemtimes more in touch with their bodies, making sex incredible. I know for a fact that a lot of men younger than me have commented that I have taught them alot. So, I say go for it!!! Give those older women the lovin they are searching for, because believe me they are searching.

I think they main reason why many men like older women is because they are mature. I don't mean physically...I mean MENTALLY. Many times men will date younger women and be satisfied physically but not emotionally. A 40 year old woman has a hell of a lot more to offer emotionally and romantically then most 19 year olds. Bum, enjoying relationships with forthright, confident women can occur with women of any age. It's the personality type, not the age. Only you and your psychiatrist can answer if you have an active or latent Oedipus complex.

I think there is some truth to what you stated, if one follows the expected development of maturity with age. However, I think you may be idealizing "older women" too much...since you talk in absolutes and sound like you think all older women follow this principle...And that would make me think you have some subconscious motherly reasons? Whatever the case may be, I don't see a problem with it. Consider it as knowing what you want and going after it. I'm sure "older women" would love to be appreciated by someone like yourself.

I know nothing about this Oedipus complex, never heard of it, to tell you the truth. As long as you accept this truth you have brought forth, more power to you. I always say a person should never be afraid to march to the tune of a different drummer.

that's awesome. I love men with those same characteristics but i have been lucky to find that in men my age or slightly older. it helps that i am like that myself ie know what i want, direct, don't beat around the bush and know what i do not want and what i can negotiate. You usually get back what you put in

No, you're absolutely right ~ Women around 40-ish begin to morph into secure, witty, fun-loving, and relaxed women - generally. I enjoy being around them as well just because they've become so 'comfortable in their skin' - and you're right, no hidden agendas - no drama. Take 'em - or take off.

As far as I am concerned, age is nothing more of an indicator of how much life experience a person should have. It is a vestigial mode of time and shouldn't interfere with your ability to form relationships with legal consenting adults. I personally find myself attracted to older men...so go for it darlin'.
