Not the souls, exactly, but the spirits do come to meet the spirits of those departing this plane of existance. I have been present at too many deaths to discount this as rambling, a sham, or wishful thinking. I have heard one-sided conversations, seen the previously frightened faces ease with the comfort of familiar faces, etc. So, in essence, the answer to your question is yes.

It is possible. We do not know for sure... but in the process of "crossing over" a dying person may be so close to the other side that they can see the related loved ones that are there to welcome them on their transition from one level of reality to the next level. There are living persons who have the ability to tap into this dimension... and in Quantum Physics the physicists say that there are 11 dimensions not just the 3 or 4 that we know of.. Height, length, breath and depth.... so who knows... I know of a living woman who could see my guardian "angel" and my aura... so the ability of the dying person to see those souls who have departed and are waiting for them to cross over... can be a very truthful reality.

There have been lots of anecdotal stories about people who have had near-death experiences seeing white lights, and loved ones who had previously passed away. I have a friend who had a sudden allergic reaction to Tylenol. Her heart actually stopped and the surgeons had to re-start her heart. She was dead. She was so depressed after that experience. She saw...nothing. But maybe it wasn't her time. Then again, other people who have had mystical experiences could have been imagining them. I think this question is a lot like religion, it's one of faith, and not provable.

I think so. I know a few weeks before my grandmother died, she told me she her children that had passed on. One of them being my father. She said they were all hovering above her. Not flying, just kind of floating. They were all smiling and laughing and talking together, but she could not hear them. Then they would wave to her to come with them.

Also, I used to work at a hospital. I walked into several rooms and I could feel something strange there. It wasn't just me, it was the other nurses as well. When I mentioned it, they all said, that yes, when a patient was near death, you could feel it. Alot of times we knew the time was near when they began talking to loved ones that has passed on.

like religion or phenomena of any kind. we dont fully understand our body , this being said we know very litttle about the brains vast abilities , coupled with a nervous system that can be worked into such a frenzy in a church that people speak to the holy ghost (or in touges as pentacostals do, which means speaking to god or someone up there) we cant say this isnt all attributed to the nervous system and the brain working together. so i would say NO.

Absolutely. Not only see, but talk to them, or vice versa. When my father lay dying in the hospital he was talking to his mother and father, and involving us: my mom, and us kids ( their grandchildren) and his dog, who we had brought in to visit him, in an entire conversation. They (his parents) were fascinated by television, and my father promised he would go buy them one so they could see, and tried to put on his shoes so we could go and do that. "They" told us there was no need to do that. My dad was 82, by the way, and that was 14 years ago.

Yes....my mom did. She was dying from lung cancer and she would tell my dad that she saw her mom (who died 14 years prior) and her sister (who died 3 years prior). She said they talked to her about how much she was going to like it there.
