You can usually test around two weeks after potential conception date, and get a positive. A negative at this point doesn't mean you're not pregnant, though. It can mean that not enough hormone has built up.

However, depending on your cycle, it may be unlikely. A woman can ovulate at any time, but generally, it will fall about halfway between periods; for example, a woman with a 28 day textbook cycle will probably ovulate between two week and two and a half weeks post period.

Go to a doctor or pregnancy crisis center, and explain the situation. They can help you get counseling, resources, STD and pregnancy testing, usually at no cost to you, if you use a pregnancy crisis center. They can usually advise you of ALL of your options.

Good luck, and please, if you haven't report the person that did this if you can, and haven't already. They should not be permitted to get away with this.

As fast as you can, go to a family planning clinic and get an emergency birth control pill. It works best within 72 hours but can be affected up to a week after the incident. You really need to tell someone about the person who did this to you even if you are scared. You can find info on www.teenwire.com, and you can get numbers and address to a local clinic near by. You may also want to get test for std's just to be safe. Do not wait any more time that necessary. Good Luck to you.

I'm so sorry. This happened to a close friend of mine too. Yes, it is too early to test. Wait to see if your period is late. It is highly unlikely that you are pregnant if it was just a few days after your period. Usually it is about 12-14 days after your period that you are fertile.

If you are (by some strange chance) pregnant, remember that the baby is innocent of his biological father's crime. I would recommend giving the child up for adoption.

My husband's cousin is the child of a rape (he was raised by his biological mother after a gang rape) and he's a super nice guy with a wife and 2 kids. It's not genetic, don't worry. ;)

Wishmaster, for the record, statistics show that "most" rape victims do not go to the hospital or police, out of fear. I think the internet is pretty anonymous, so I understand coming & asking a question here.

Sweetie, I know how scary it is, but other victims will tell you the best thing you can do for yourself is to report this crime. It will help with the healing. You can also get counseling from RAINN- The Rape Abuse & Incest National Network- www.rainn.org, (800) 656- HOPE.

If you were Raped I know this might sound strong but you must get your self tested for std's and if there is still some seaman in you a nurse can get it checked.

A normal period goes for 28 days and the start of bleeding is day one and bleeding can finished the 5th or 7th day of mestration cycle and your not fetile till the forteenth day and all the way till the 28th day

Hopefully it is was too early for you to have gotten pregnant. A blood test is accurate very early. I hope that you went to the hospital to be treated after wards. They might give you a blood test because of the situation. They do have to be ordered by a doctor. If you did not seek treatment PLEASE do so. Not only for your body but for your mind also. I hope that you don't believe that it was your fault because it was not. Don't keep this to yourself.

I am so sorry this has happened to you.. but if it happened a few days after your period you have a better chance of not being pregnant than being pregnant because you weren't ovulating.. I hope you have gone to the hospital...

I believe you can test as soon as you've missed a period.
Just take one.

Off-topic, but you've reported the person who raped you, correct?

EDIT: This may scare you more, but you might want to get checked for any STDs, because you never know.

please don't take this offensively but it sounds to me like you had unprotected sex and now regret doing it and now you are worried about pregnancy. Most rape victims go to the hospital and report it and when they are there they get a rape kit done and before you leave the nurses give you the day after pill to prevent pregnancy. Most girls know about the day after pill and take it within the 72hrs.
I was raped when i was 17yrs old and i can tell you that i wasn't able to talk about it with anybody for 6 months and i certainly wouldn't be coming on the internet to talk about it sooo soon.
If this did happen then you need to report it and seek medical attention.
