ive got an 8800 gts 640 mb, o/c to 570/970, an e6600 o/c to 2.79 ghz, and a p52-32e sli plus motherboard, w/ 2gb of corsair xms2 ram 800 mhz (pc2 6400) with 4-4-4-12 timings.
and i have a 700 watt gamexstream power supply. mand a creative sound blaster audigy sound card. my hard drive RPM's are 7200, normal.

i just recently built this and it sems to not be performing as well as it should be, accordoing to 3dmark (demo version, stock options set) im only scoring 8764 marks. and it says my system is in the low range of similar systems, which sounds unusual fot this kind of a setup. i ahve all updated drivers also. anyone have any suggestions for getting my system up to parr? or does it seem to be running fine for this setup? im know my gaming experience has all been fine, but, i want to get my moneys worth for my computer as i paiud $1200 for it (built it myself).

What did 3DMark set their ram timings at for these systems? Is this the lowest latency, etc. that runs okay? Are you sure the OC'ing of your cpu, and graphics card hasn't actually slowed down the performance, or are these settings based on benchmark's they have provided. Not all system's perform the same, I don't care if they have the exact same parts, when you start OC'ing. Just my 2cents! I also think 3DMark makes mistakes, my case in point being your gaming performance has YOU satisfied, pee on THEIR benchmarks!

I'm scoring 7900ish, in 3DMark06, with a 2.4Ghz AMD dual and dual HD2600XT's in crossfire also with 2Gigs.

Dual HD2600's should beat out your 8800 a bit, but i should loose out in CPU. That score doesn't sound to far off.

XP scores are higher than Vista scores, a lot of people blame it on the drivers.

XFX's 8800 is clocked 600/950, maybe you can go further. Also supposedly the 8800's shader clocks speed can go a lot furter, but seem to be locked with the core speed. They may or may not be tied together in newer drivers.

Did you double check to make sure your hard drive is running at it's full bandwith? Not just Rpm. On my Seagate drive i had to remove a jumper.

Your overclocks may be counter productive.
Compare your FSB O/C with your 8800 timing.
