First I would like to say that it is not an STD, I'm 100% a virgin.

Um....I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to going to a doctor...so I figure it might be best to go here to get some people to tell me to go to the doctor or I will die....so I will get scared enough to tell somebody to take me to the doctor....

So....basically all of this started 1 week ago and has been getting a bit worse slowly.So can you help? And um....how dangerous is it to not get treatment? And what are your guesses of what it might be? I'm mainly posting this question because I know I need to see a doctor or get some kind of medication, but I need to know that I'm out of options before I panic....and I'd kind of like to know all of the facts about what it might be first. I'm guessing something like a urinary tract infection or a yeast infection....hopefully?

Gah! I'd tell my Mom, but I feel too awkward...>,>

sounds like a yeast infection and they do not go away without medicine. You need to talk to your mom, she can go the the drug store and get you some medicine or even better take you to a doctor to make sure you are okay. It can get very bad, don't be embarrassed because you can't help it.

I'm pretty sure you have a yeast infection. Anyone can get these, I started getting them when I was 13 probably because I was a dancer ( I was completely sexually inactive to about 15, a virgin till 19!). You have to go to the doctor and your mom will totally understand. 75% OF ALL WOMEN WILL GET A YEAST INFECTION AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME. Many have recurring ones. It could also be vaginitis. Both can be cured with an antibiotic and/or some kind of ointment. Sometimes if it's mild, it can even go away on it's own. But you have to go to the doctor to see what it is. If it's a Urinary Tract Infection (which you can also get outta nowhere) it's a big deal and it will only get worse without a dr's care. GO TO A DOCTOR! They'll diagnose you & give you a cure in a heartbeat and the whole thing might be over in a few days. Your mom will probably be thrilled you told her; she's a gal herself ya know, and she likes taking care of her little baby. Get to the doctor, it's no biggie. Happens to all of us.

Okay I work in a medical clinic (8 Years). You need to see a doctor or better yet A OB GYN. If you are not sure what is going on it's probably a good Idea. I don't know how old you are or if you are sexually active but pray all you have is a urinary track infection. Some STD's if not treated could make you unable to have children and sometimes you could be carrying them for A long time with no symptoms. In the mean time drink lots of water. It could be nothing maybe caused from taking too many baths but why take a chance. Good Luck hope it all works out.

You could actually have both - a yeast infection and a urinary tract infection; though a bad yeast infection can cause painful urination at the opening of the urethrea.

yes, it can be dangerous to not get treatment- you can become very ill, become sterile, have it develop into a worse infection.

You can get an over the counter product now that can detect if you have a yeast infection; I believe there is also one for urinary tract infections.

however, if this is the first time you've had one, seeing a doctor would be best.

Don't worry about telling your mom - you don't have to be sexually active to get one. Even dietary imbalances can cause these infections. Swimming a lot, hot tub use, even poor wiping can cause these infections to grow.

This IS easily treated, but you do want to get seen for it asap. Go monday to the doctor; he will precribe a cream that will not only ease the discomfort but cure the infection.

Oh, and don't worry about telling your mom - she'll be glad you did. After all, you are her biggest concern and she wants you healthy and happy.

EDIT ) ifyou have even a MILD allergic reaction to mold, do NOT use yogurt. While it works for some women, it makes the condition WORSE for others. Please see the doctor before trying any homeopathivc cure like that.

Sounds like a number of things... Possibly a yeast infection and/or Urinary Tract Infection. Like with any bacterial infection, antibiotics are necessary. If you continue with out treatment, the infection could spread to other female organs, not to mention cause you horrible pain. Some infections within the female area can even effect fertility. I know how weird it is to talk to your Mom about stuff like that, but it's imperative that you do it now. Maybe write down what your experiencing on a piece of paper and give it your Mom. I remember when I got my first yeast infection. It was right after my wisdom teeth were removed. I was somewhat handicapped from the pain meds, so I couldn't just go out and buy some Monistat. I was horrified! I finally got tired of itching to death, and told my Mom. She took care of everything. I got a prescription, and within 24hrs, I was already feeling better. I felt pretty silly waiting for so long. As a Mom myself now, I would hope my daughter would come to me. Since I also have a vagina, I totally would understand and do my best to help her feel secure and not embarrassed. I am sure your Mom would the same. Hey, that's what Moms are for!

It sounds like a urinary tract infection. Your sodium and water are running low and your peeing it all out as quickly as you can drink it in. Are you striving to push it out until you bleed? Does your pee stink likes it real acidic? I did that, too.
You need to get some fiber into your system. Eat some bran cereal. The sodium and fiber are just what you need. You could also eat some salad greens, that would work too. I started coming down with this infection and I called a health store and asked the manager what I should do. He said to do this. It worked for me instantly. I never saw a doctor and I got no pills. I had no more problems after that.
I would suggest some orange juice, something with lots of sodium or potassium, but without some fiber to soak it up, it will just flush out your system again. Cranberry juice is suggested for preventing infection, but it will do the same thing. You will start to recover when you can get yourself to pee less frequently and when you can drink some liquid without instanly peeing it out the other end. The more time between episodes, the better you will feel. Once you get that under control, drink liquids and rehydrate yourself.
It's going to take a couple of days to get yourself back to normal so pace yourself. You're going to feel really thirsty, so take it a little bit at a time. You're going to be all right, you just got a little run down. Even if you went to a doctor, you still have to take care of your health and get your system in better working order or you're just going to do it again.
I hope you feel better real soon.

If urinating is becoming more and more difficult, along with the other symptoms you're experiencing...then you might have a urinary tract infection (UTI). It is treatable and there should be nothing to be ashamed of. However, you do need to get to a doctor A.S.A.P.! Another possible diagnosis might be vaginitis... there are several types of vaginitis....

Signs and symptoms

Vaginitis symptoms may include:
* Change in color, odor or amount of discharge from your vagina
* Vaginal itching or irritation
* Pain during intercourse
* Painful urination
* Light vaginal bleeding

Additionally, you may have these signs and symptoms depending on the type of vaginitis:

* Bacterial vaginosis. You may develop a grayish-white, foul-smelling discharge. The odor, often described as fish-like, may be more obvious after sexual intercourse.

* Yeast infections. The main symptom is itching, but you may have a white, thick discharge that resembles cottage cheese.

* Trichomoniasis. This infection can cause a greenish yellow, sometimes frothy discharge.

Sounds like a yeast infection. I used Canesten it had 3 tablets that you insert and also a cream to use. It was easy to use and gave quick relief. Go to the drug store and ask the pharmacist. You don't really need to see a doctor for this unless you have a drug plan that might cover this cream as a prescription. I would try the Canesten first and if that doesn't help then definately see a doctor.

GO TO YOUR DOCTOR. Personally it sounds like a yeast infection of some sort but it could actually be something worse. The PH balance sounds off and you truly do need to see a health care professional. If you've been on antibiotics lately, or some other medications, it can trigger weird PH levels in the vagina. However, you need to see a doctor about this before it gets worse. Untreated it could lead to serious, serious complications
