90% of the DEMOCRAT senators voted to renew the Patriot Act.
Are they conspiring with Bush to take our rights away from us?
What do you think Dems?
Even Harry Reid said, "I killed the Patriot Act." Yet, he turned around and voted to renew it. Is he working with Bush to control us?

g, Sorry to disappoint you but the key Dem who was fighting against the Patriot Act said that they did NOT get what they needed. He felt that his party sold out Americans by voting to renew the Act.

It is embarrassing to me that Democrats show such little spine when it comes to the defense of the constitution.
On the other hand, who is the one who proposed the Patriot Act? It seems to be it should be even MORE embarrassing to Republicans to support a president who proposes such a thing, and who then lays the blame for its passage at the feet of the opposing party.
Hey, "the DEVIL made me do it!" Yeah, that's the ticket!

I'm as unhappy as anyone. That is the single most dangerous piece of legislation ever written. All it takes is one tyrant to screw things up horribly using the Patriot act, and the damnedest thing is there is nobody who is willing to expunge that thing from the laws of this land amongst either party. Hopefully there is a judge out there willing to uphold the constitution who will strike it down.

were there any changes when they re-approved it?
I think if you answer that question... you'll answer your own question
EDIT: some may not have liked the final version... but many thought it was a tremendous improvement over the original in many areas of concern

I am not. I certainly enjoy my rights and I do not want them gone. I am very disappointed with Congress, they could be doing a lot more.
