Yes ...when I was violently hit in the chest and knocked out of the flimsy raft while white water rafting with my daughter. We were told to never let go of the paddle. However I was unable to gasp for air before hitting the cold water and the bottom of the raft painfully went over my face.
I was scraping across the rough rock bottom and could not surface to get air. In my struggles to get to the surface I felt my lungs were ready to explode.

I could hear an audible voice telling me to let go of the paddle as I watched my spouse and children's face pass before my eyes. A sign that I would not see them again and figured that it was over. Again I kept hearing a loud audible voice telling me to let go of the paddle. As things started to go dark I let go of the paddle and went straight to the surface.

I finished out the trip..and realized God was with me and it was His voice I heard.

I have honestly been told that I did die and was brought back.

As for coming close to death, I try and fight death at ever instance but when I am sick as can be and flat on my box i can see a peace that could be confused for death. It is just exhaustion.

OMG Monday morning I thought I was having a heart attack. I tried convince my self otherwise. Finally after 90min of excruciating pain I drove my self to the ER. I felt really dumb because I'm a nurse... blah blah blah. So they do an EKG and vital signs and tell me I'm fine, wait on a doctor.
I get up and go home (still in pain)

Yes. A number of times. Then I did die. It was disappointing. I didn't see the light or the tunnel or any of the promised things they talk about. Then they got me started up again and it's back to it once again.

I have died and came back. When I was 15. When I was 18 I tried to kill myself. (extreme depression) When I was 20 I had a blood infection and doctors said I wouldn't make it. When I was 21 I had panceratitis and almost died. When I was 42 I had another blood infection and almost lost my legs... So I would have to say yes... OH almost forgot.. When I was 6 I had my top lip split and a major vein cut and almost bleed to death...

I once choked on a gumball. I was with my friends but no one noticed because they were all engrossed in some joke a friend was telling!

I remember telling myself to not panic because I don't want to die just yet and I administered the Heimlich Manoeuver on myself!

Yes, I had a life threatening illness when I was about 6 years old.
I was pronounced hours from death prior to going in to surgery.
