I have bought nearly 14 items on Ebay over the past couple of years. However there is something I would like to sale. I had everything all layed out and ready to go. I am having a problem about the shipping and handling part. Since I had to leave to go do an errand. I just said screw it.

Can someone explain how that part works? The item is about 6 pounds, and it is 13X5X3 inches. No overseas shipping. What do I have to put down as far as options, and what not for the bidder? What happens if someone from my area buys it?

There's a shipping wizard thing at the end of the listing process. It helps you to find the exact or estimated amount to ship your product. There are three size I think. Most items fall into the first catagory. You'll just have to put your zipcode and bingo. When I was selling my first item I was so nervous about this shipping thing. But it worked for me. The best part of it is, once you sold your item, you could pay for the shipping through paypal. You'll get the shipping label online. Then just stick it to the box and drop it in the post office. No more wasting time in line. I think it's pretty cool.

You can go to the usps website and look it up. Just say how much it weighs, and get an estimation. That's what I do. And if it is someone in your area, then you can say in the discription that they can pick it up, if you want to. This is just what I would do. But make sure that you estimate how much you would want to make for profit because ebay will take a percentage of what you sell.
