Life does not always give you an out. It's nice to think you have that kind of power and control in your life, but really, you don't. If you loose your job and can't pay your bills, you will loose your apartment or house, you will loose most everything you have if you have no family to help you. Going down, you will be very lucky if you have a way out. I personally did not. Moving to a new location, having to make new friends and get used to a new school or job, thats just part of life, and if you let it consume you thinking that you have left something so important behind, you will be miserable.
Now that I think about it, there is a way out of his situation, make new friends and find new places to hang out. Sooner than you can imagine, you will have something similar to what you had to leave behind. It just takes time. I know that being a 17yo male ANYWHERE is a hard thing to do, but you can make it better if you try.

Yes, there are always a way out. Sometimes, physically, there isn't. In that situation, yes, there are ways out. To him, making connections everywhere he went gave him the advantage.

Yes.
However, it may not be the way your looking for.
Example:
If you made a mistake (a large one, like murder) and you ruined lives you may think there is no way out, but there is. Just be sorry, no one has to accept your apology, but if your really are sorry, you will be forgiven. (whether you know it or not)
