Look here for legitimate, Screen Actors Guild registered agencies:

Do you watch AMERICAN IDOL at all? Or AMERICA'S GOT TALENT? A lot of those people think they have "talent", too, and some of them actually do. If you are not currently taking classes, though (with your parents' blessing and guidance, of course), the LAST thing you want to do right now is get in front of a professional agent and make a fool out of yourself...that is, if you get that far. Having done this for a while now, I can tell you from personal experience that Simon Cowell can be a pompous jerk, but he is HARDLY the meanest guy in the world. There are people who will embarrass you so badly, that you'll never think about acting again. And they'll do it just because they CAN, even if you are 'talented.'

Now, if you've read this far and you still want to risk finding an agent, find a book called ROSS REPORTS. Not only does it give agent listings a lot of times, but it actually lists all of the movies and TV shows shooting in all parts of the country, as well as where to send in your headshot and resume if you see a part you want to audition for.

you are only one of a million who think they have talent and this is your dream and you don;t know how to do it. Sigh. 1-you gotta get mom and dad to agree that you can be an actor. 2/ be in all the school plays. 3 take professional lessons, 4. read a lot about acting and read a lot of plays, 5.be in more plays, 6 learn about auditions and interviews. 7 make a resume and get head shots. 8 apply to agents. This will take a few years and you still may not get an agent.
