Question about time dilation?

Is it possible that in the experiments done to test time dilation, there was only a physical effect on the atomic clocks that made it seem like the actual "time"has changed? Could it be the "relativistiv mass increase thing, or somehow the atoms in the clock were slowed down, but not due to time change?

If one were to take into consideration that moving body's shorten while under accelerations, ie, rods become shorter then this theory of yours seems only logical to me.

Rods are mass + acceleration = condense = shorten
Atoms are mass + acceleration = condense = shorten

Time function of a physical clock made of mass + acceleration = condense = shorten = function appears shorter = slower.

This would be function related in two independent reference frames, although after the singular reference frame which has been accelerated then is decelerated function would once again be the same for both reference frames, although the difference of the clocks would remain out of synchronization, and comparatively a time differential between both clocks is observed.

although this would also mean that time function is directional and with regard to the linear and angular velocity's in which our Galaxy, Solar System, and Planet are traversing through space, then there would be one plotted course in which acceleration would actually increase the length of the rod, and not compress it, because as you accelerate in reverse direction to Galactic, Solar System, and our Earths linear and angular velocity's which have been previously accelerated, then you would actually bring yourself to a deceleration and it would actually be the Galaxy, Solar System, and Planets which are accelerating away from you while you become completely at rest with regard to your acceleration.

The amount of the time differential observed between the two independent reference frames one on Earth, and the other under acceleration would be in direct correlation to the speed of the acceleration, and the duration of the acceleration, therefor super high speed tests could be offset with regard to the duration of time of the accelerating reference frame.

Time dilation is not caused by some physical phenomenon with the atoms in the clock because in the frame of the clock it is motionless. You can't tell that you are moving very fast in a plane because relative to you the plane is not moving.
Time dilation would also work with a regular clock taken from off the wall in your house. The only reason atomic clocks are used is because of the high precision needed to notice a change at slow speeds.

No, the tests were not done at that large a speed. Anyway, if the atom slow down and mass increases, aren't these time-related ?

adding on to the great answer above. If the atoms are slowed. that is a slow in time.

Time is defined by mass moving through space. no more, no less so if the atoms are slowed then time is slowed. no more, no less
