At least it is a friend of yours. Talk to your dramatic teacher; that's what he or she is paid for.

Ok...here is the Straight Dope:

Most Stage Kisses are done by fooling the audience:

1: The Girl is on the Boy's right arm
2: The Boy sweeps the Girl upstage, to the left, and bends her backwards.
3: The Girl's face is hidden from the audience.
4: The "clench" is broken, both parties face front, and the Girl says something like "Oh My!"

If you both have to , in Profile, actually touch lips, here are some pointers:

Have, and use, breath mints before the scene. It is only polite.

Remember that you are Acting. Your Character really, really wants to kiss your partner's Character.

Keep the kiss Onstage, and do not read too much in to it. It is only a kiss. Keep your lips soft, but closed. No tongue. No open mouth.

Stay in character, and NEVER "fake kiss". NEVER "break" to nervously laugh. Your Character is not embarrassed. Your Character is In Love. Act accordingly.

DEMAND that your partner practices good oral hygene. Laugh with your partner. Be silly and embarrassed before you go on stage. Do it "for real" onstage.

Have fun! An Onstage "real" kiss can be just as much fun as a Real "real" kiss.

Talk it out with your partner in rehearsal.

It is the teacher's job to figure out how to handle the scene. There is such a thing as a 'stage kiss' which looks like a passionate kiss but is not. the director should use that.
