Craig Biggio is going to play his last game in the majors on Sunday against Atlanta. Neither the Astros nor the Braves are in a playoff race. Biggio has been hit by a pitch 285 times in his career, two behind Hughie Jennings for the all time mark of 287.

So, as a sign of respect, should the Braves lob a few changeups inside to Biggio tomorrow, to give him a shot at the record?

Umm No! Are you serious? THROW at him to show him RESPECT!?! No, thats a stupid record that Big wouldn't want to get LIKE that, UNLESS it would win the game for the Stros. Thats the kinda player Biggio is. ARE you serious?......

The game means nothing for the season. If Bidge is willing to stick out his butt three times and the Braves pitchers are willing to lob some softballs toward his posterior, what the hell. I'd like to see the record fall. Pity Commissioner Selig won't be there for this auspicious and historic occasion.

I doubt this is how it will happen.

Kendall will take the record in a few years anyway, if he's still playing.

No. I'm sure the record means nothing to him, and it would just be phony like Ricky Davis tossing the ball off his own backboard to get a triple double. Records should occur naturally, not be fixed.

I will never forget when Nykesha Sales was allowed to step on the court with a broken leg for Uconn and Villanova let her score so she could break Uconns all time scoring record. It was terrible and the NCAA should not have accepted it.

that doesn't exactly seem like a record to be proud of holding, so i think they should just approach Biggio as they would any other batter, getting hit with a pitch (even a change-up) hurts like hell

that would be intresting they will throw fastballs down the middle to him and he gets his hit and leaves the game. I do not understand for what reason did craig biggio start as the catcher tonight.

I don't think a pitcher should ever intentionally throw at a hitter, especially for the purpose of establishing a new record. That would be akin to a pitcher " grooving " one for Barry Bonds just so he could hit #756. There's no place in baseball for that. Oh, and as Tom Hanks says in the movie, " A League of Their Own ", " There's no crying in baseball ", either...

No, he should jump in front of every pitch. Get real, he has a 3000 hit career. What's more important??

"most times hit by a pitch". Does this record actually mean anything?

That is actually a funny question.

Yes, i think Biggio should get plunked for the hell of it.

3000 hits, and 287 hit by pitches.

Awesome!
