My favorite indie artist at the moment is Alexe Colbus. I discovered her when she sent me a friend request on myspace. She's got some good/pretty songs, and she also does some awesome covers of a few classics.

they're from the 90's, but pavement is my all-time favorite indie band. they can't be beat.
