If you walk at 3MPH each mile will take you
1/3 hour which is 60minutes divided by three = 20 minutes
So 1 mile is walked in 20 minutes
One-tenth mile is walked in one tenth of 20 minutes
20/10=2
One tenth mile is walked in 2 minutes
So four tenths of a mile is walked in 4X2=8 minutes

you walk 3mph in 60 mins then you travel 1 mile in 20 min. and finally .1 miles in 2 mins therefore it takes 8 mins to cover .4 miles
